ThermSat - pilot training program "Thermal renovation engineer in construction industry"

The thermal renovation rate is expected to increase from 1% to 3% per year. However, according to the current situation of the construction industry, the number of renovation specialists / renovation technicians and the renovation training services are not sufficient for the expected growth of the renovation rate. The project focuses on the development, provision, evaluation and further development of the pilot training program "thermal renovation engineer in construction industry", which provide practical and theoretical knowledge according to the current development.

ThermSat - Ausbildungsprogramm "Thermischer Sanierungstechniker im Baugewerbe"

Ziel ist es, ein praxisorientiertes und auf derzeitige Entwicklungen abgestimmtes Weiterbildungsangebot zu entwickeln, anzubieten, zu evaluieren und weiterzuentwickeln. Als Ergebnis werden fundiert ausgebildete TechnikerInnen / FacharbeiterInnen angestrebt, die im Bereich thermische Sanierung von Gebäuden sowohl praktisches als auch theoretisches Wissen aufweisen.

Summary

Starting point / motivation

The thermal renovation of existing buildings contributes to the implementation of the measures which are aimed to save energy and protect the climate. The renovation rate is expected to increase from 1% to 3% per year. However, according to the current situation of the construction industry, the number of renovation specialists / renovation technicians and the renovation training services are not sufficient for the expected growth of the renovation rate.

Contents and goals

On the basis of a prior research, the current training programs will be researched and analysed. The contents and scripts of the pilot training program "thermal renovation engineer in construction industry" will be adjusted to the knowledge and results from the current programs. As a result, the available information and know-how can be conditioned to the target audience and the national know-how-transfer will be promoted.

The project focuses on the development, provision, evaluation and further development of advanced training services which provide practical and theoretical knowledge according to the current development. Through this training program, important knowledge from the previous program "Building of tomorrow" can be transferred into the knowledge portfolio of the entire construction sector and of the renovation specialists.

Expected results / conclusions

By training more renovation specialists, the technological position of Austrian enterprises can be further consolidated. The considerable contribution of know-how spread in the construction industry to the growth of energy efficiency can be facilitated and supported. The training program "thermal renovation engineer in construction industry" will contribute to the increase of the thermal renovation rate and the generation of more thermal renovation specialists.
