Summary
Starting point / motivation
By putting together the exhibition, the compatibility of completed examples that combine the passive house standard and a high architectural quality should be shown nationally and internationally. In addition, these Austrian cultural and technical accomplishments should be presented and made known more widely.
Contents and goals
Contents of the exhibition and the accompanying publication are going to be examples of new buildings demonstrating the best architectural quality in the passive house standard. In addition to the optical appearance, the technical planning of the buildings should be shown including plans (ground plans, sections and exemplary details) and the house installations. In this respect, the varied typology of the utilization (residential buildings, office buildings and special constructions) of typical buildings should be indicated. The target groups are national and international professionals from the building sector, unfamiliar with the passive house standard or not regarding it as being compatible with high-quality architecture. In order to ensure international appeal, the exhibition board inscriptions will be prepared in English and German.
Methodical procedure
Accompanying arrangements:
exhibition opening: At every exhibition location an introductory event shall be held to open the exhibition. In each case, a speaker shall cover both the architectural and technical aspects.
Promotion: A cooperation with the network of architectural institutions, cultural sections of the Austrian embassies and the Austrian foreign trade offices is planned.
Exhibition Locations: The exhibition will be shown in public institutions, in showrooms for architecture and in training centers for construction and architecture (fixed up to now: HTL Mödling, Architectural Associations of Salzburg and Upper Austria, FH Carinthia in Spittal, University of Innsbruck).
